Round 22

FK Vitebsk 6-0 FC Gomel ( att : 50 )

Dinamo Brest 1-4 Bobruichanka ( att : 20 )

ABFF U19 0-0 Zorka BGU ( att : 50 )

FK Minsk 4-0 FK Smorgon  ( att : 50 )

Dinamo BGU Minsk 7-1 Dnepr Mogilev ( att : 90 )

After being surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw in the Dnepr Mogilev dome in their last match, to throw open this season’s title wide open, Dinamo BGU Minsk extracted suitable revenge in the return meeting between the two sides.

It took just 4 minutes for Dinamo to take the lead, ex-Neman star Ekatarina Dudko tapping home after Pilipenko’s shot had rebounded off the post. A series of first time passes then released Pilipenko to double the lead after 8 minutes, and Dinamo proceeded to miss several guilt edge chances until Dabda crossed for Pilipenko to add a third goal after 16 minutes.

Dinamo continued to dominate but a series of top class saves from Belarus national Under 19 goal-keeper Maria Tolstaya kept the score to 3-0 at the interval.

It took Dinamo just 6 minutes to increase their lead in the second half, as Pilipenko took advantage of confusion in the Dnepr defence to score her hat-trick, and with the floodgate opened, Cisse and Shuppo added further goals.

However, the tide was temporarily stemmed when Viktoryia Barlyugova took advantage of an error by Dinamo keeper Ulasevich to chip a loose ball into the unguarded net for the first league goal Dinamo had conceded this season to a side other than FK Minsk.

Dnepr were able to prevent any further damage until the last minute, when Pilipenko ran clear but unselfishly passed to Shlapakova to roll the ball into the empty net to conclude the scoring.

FK Minsk kept up the pressure on Dinamo with a regulation 4-0 home win over Smorgon. As expected, Minsk dominated the early stages, and after Pobegaylo had seen a shot blocked, Simpore was denied by a flying save from Smorgon keeper Brileva, who had been outstanding in the Bears last match against Dinamo.

It took Minsk 22 minutes to open the scoring, when Pobegaylo, fresh from a scintillating performance for the national U-19 team against Georgia, sent a volley from close to the penalty spot into the top corner, leaving Brileva no chance.

Smorgan’s defence was breached five minutes later when Pobegaylo and Khotyreva combined to leave Surovtseva a simply finish to double the lead.

Smorgon manage to avoid any further damage until half-time, and Brileva’s safe handling prevented any further mishap until Simpore pounced on a weak back-pass and set-up Khotyreva to roll the ball into an empty net. Minsk wrapped up the scoring when Khotyreva’s incisive pass found Bakum who was able to turn past her marker for a simple finish. Despite the defeat, Smorgon managed to maintain their respectable defensive record against the top two.

Zorka needed a win to overtake Dnepr and regain third position, but they found ABFF U-19 stubborn opposition and had to settle for a 0-0 draw. ABFF U-19 keeper Zaletova made a couple of decent saves before ABFF U-19’s Charlenok was denied by Zorka keeper Chistik, tipping her shot over the bar. ABFF U-19 had the better of the rest of the first half, but hardly troubled the Zorka keeper.

The second half was a sterile affair and with both keeper’s dealing with the few dangerous situations the game deservedly finished goalless.

In a game in which both sides played in shades of either blue or purple, as expected, Vitebsk recorded an easy victory over rock bottom Gomel, although the visitors were able to hold out until half-time. The six goals were only scored in the final 35 minutes, with Alexandra Yakushevich claiming a hat-trick to move to 9 goals for the season. Natalia Vasiljeva added another to add to her impressive collection for the season and veteran midfielder Elena Buzinova was also on the score sheet. Anna Zavadska was Vitebsk’s other goal scorer.

In the final game of the weekend, Dinamo Brest might have had hopes of repeating ( or better ) their draw early in the season with Bobruichanka. After 40 year old ex-international striker Olga Aniskovtseva’s neat near post header had given Bobruichanka the lead, Irina Yatsuskevich strike from the edge of the area on the stroke of half-time gave Dinamo hope of a rare point. However, Aniskovtseva added two penalties to her tally and in between Gurbonova also found the net to give Bobruichanka a morale boosting three points.
